MarsKeel Technology manufactured the lifting keel for the 63 “Kiwi Spirit” (Lyman Morse Boatbuilding Co.). It is a fabricated and fully CNC machined hydraulically activated lifting fin with a 12,000 lbs. cast bulb.

The Kiwi Sprits owner, Stanley Paris plans to become the oldest, fastest sailor to sail around the world. The trip will begin on November 30th, 2013 leaving from St. Augustine, Florida. The Kiwi Spirit will then sail north and around Bermuda, the starting point. From there it will head south into the Southern Ocean via Cape Horn before rerounding Bermuda and finishing back in St.Augustine, Florida.
